The popular Czech bikesharing service is probably known to everyone, especially for its ubiquitous pink bikes. On 2,000 bikes, cyclists in Czech and Slovak cities ride 1.5 million trips a year. The pink bikes don't exactly have an easy ride on the streets. They are ridden every day in all weather conditions and often become the target of vandals and thieves.
However, Rekola protects the bikes with a digital lock and GPS locator, which Innovis has connected to its own monitoring center Space. The security operates on such a universal principle that Innovis can use it absolutely everywhere. Not only on bikes.
"Innovis, through the center, helps to monitor the bikes and in case of any unauthorized manipulation, or when a thief is escaping on a bike, Innovis patrol goes out to catch the thief," explains marketing handlebar Jan Střecha from Rekola.
"The technologies that protect the bikes can be used to protect anything you can imagine – any furniture, buildings, but also vehicles," adds Elias Karráa, Business Development Manager at Innovis."
